This figurine of St. Elizabeth depicts her holding a bouquet of roses. St. Elizabeth of Hungary was born in 1207 to King Andrew II of Hungary. She decided to give up all her wealth and position to join a lay Franciscan group where she built a hospice for the poor and sick. She devoted the rest of her life to serving the poor and sick at her hospice. She died at the age of 24 and was canonized four years later. St. Elizabeth is the patron saint of bakers, countesses, death of children, falsely accused, the homeless, nursing services, tertiaries, widows, and young brides.
