This lovely necklace depicting St. Benedict measures 22" long with the chain. It can be used for protection against evil, safety for mothers while giving birth, for conversion of sinners, and many other things.
On the front of the necklace pendant, there is an image of St. Benedict with the name written in a circle around the depiction. On the back of the medal, the letters C. S. S. M. L. - N. D. S. M. D. stand for Crux Sacra Sit Mihi Lux, meaning "The Holy Cross be my light." Non Draco Sit Mihi Dux translate to "Let not the dragon [Satan] be my guide." The letters C S P B stand for Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti, meaning "Cross of the Holy Father Benedict." The initials V R S N S M V - S M Q L I V B stand for Vade Retro Satana, Nunquam Suade Mihi Vana—Sunt Mala Quae Libas, Ipse Venena Bibas, which means "Step back, Satan, do not suggest to me thy vanities—evil are the things thou profferest, drink thou thy own poison."
