St. Anthony of Padua was a Portuguese Franciscan Friar. He was born in 1195 to a wealthy family and joined the Franciscan order in 1220. He was known for his powerful preaching, expert knowledge of scripture, and undying love and devotion to the poor and the sick. He died in 1231 due to his poor health. He is the patron saint for the recovery of lost items and his feast day is June 13th. This magnet of St. Anthony of Padua is a wonderful way to remember his life.
