This 8.5" statue of St. Rita is a beautiful reminder of the wonderful saint. She was married at twelve years old. Her husband was abusive and cheated on St. Rita. After eighteen years of marriage, St. Rita's husband was brutally murdered. Later, she joined the Augustinian religious sisters. She is often portrayed with a partial stigmata on her forehead, a rose, or bees. St. Rita is the patroness of impossible causes, sterility, abuse victims, loneliness, marriage difficulties, parenthood, widows, the sick, bodily ills, and wounds. Her feast day is celebrated on May 22. Because she was a faithful wife and demonstrated true fidelity, this statue would be a great reminder for married couples to what true love is
